ignite supports the personal and professional development of young people, giving them a stepping stone to further education pathways and discover the various careers that exist within New Zealand’s vibrant creative industries. Through the programme, IGNITE will engage the wider community by producing truly authentic youth events – run by young people for young people, and creating key performance opportunities for young and emerging artists. By investing in the next generation of music industry professionals with mentorship and practical experience,  IGNITE will create a sustainable model to produce more high-quality events for ALL AGES in Auckland, and eventually nationwide.

Savina started organising all ages shows from the age of 16 for her band and her favourite local bands.  She became a founding member of organisations Local Output, Underground Music and Savvy Promotions all with a mission to create more all ages music events in Auckland. This all led her to study Certificate in Live Sound and Event Production at MAINZ and working as a live sound engineer and AV technician. When the Diploma in Music and Event Management was announced as a new course at MAINZ, she took up study again to further her knowledge of the 'behind the scenes' of the music industry.
Savina Kim has since worked in various areas of the music industry for 13+ years, holding extensive knowledge from music publishing and music supervision (Mushroom Music, Native Tongue / Mana Music) to events, tours and festivals (Solid Entertainment, Rhythm and Vines). She moved onto working for venues, firstly as an event coordinator at Auckland Live looking after shows at Auckland Town Hall, ASB Theatre and Civic Theatre and now works as an event manager at Auckland Stadiums (Mt Smart Stadium, Western Springs Stadium, QBE Stadium). Savina is heavily involved in education and industry as the Chair of Programme Advisory Committee at MAINZ, a founding member of Familiar Strangers, and as a guest speaker at various seminars and education providers. Savina has always been a big advocate of supporting young people with aspirations of working in the music industry and IGNITE was created to drive this lifelong passion.
